Charlie Phoenix was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She began working in entertainment as an assistant stage manager for a small theater in Hollywood. She went on to produce and post supervise various documentary and reality television programing before transitioning to writing and producing scripted content full time.
Being both a woman and lesbian, Charlie writes fearlessly about the under-represented; carrying the mantle of those with no outlet to voice their stories.
Her short film "See the Universe" is an official selection of the 2017 Chicano International Film Festival. Her short film "Schooled" is an official selection of the 2017 Equality International Film Festival and her short film "Who's There" was an audience awards Women's Film Challenge semi-finalist.
She was the bronze prize winner for the World Series of Screenwriting Competition and an official finalist in the New York Screenplay Competition for her pilot "Border State".
