Charlie Phoenix was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She began working in entertainment as an assistant stage manager for a small theater in Hollywood. She went on to produce and post supervise various documentary and reality television programs before transitioning to writing and producing scripted content full time.
Being both a woman and lesbian, Charlie writes fearlessly about the under-represented; carrying the mantle of those with no outlet to voice their stories.
A Daughter's Plan to Kill, a film she co-wrote with her writing partner Chanon Finley, aired on Lifetime in November 2019.
She is the bronze prize winner for the World Series of Screenwriting Competition and an official finalist in the New York Screenplay Competition for her pilot Border State.
